Forum for World Education (Hereinafter referred as FWE) held a special online event at 21:00, on 31st March, Beijing time (EST 9:00 a.m.) to pay special tribute to Mr. Paul Kelly, the Founder of FWE. Mr. Paul Kelly’s whole life is marked with distinction and he has made remarkable contribution to the development of FWE and international education. As a close friend of Paul Kelly, Mr. Wang Guangfa (Chairman of Fazheng Group) attended the event to offer condolences for the passing of a dear friend.
In collaboration with Dr. Cheng Davis (Special Advisor to the President of the University of Pennsylvania and Senior Advisor to Government of Shanghai Pudong District) and Mr. Wang Guangfa, Mr. Paul Kelly helped establish the Forum for World Education (FWE) in 2018, with the goal of building a platform for international education communication and bringing together researchers, educators, policymakers and business leaders to transform education, stimulate economic growth and societal progress while maintaining stability.
Thinking of days they spent on preparing FWE, Mr. Wang Guangfa is overwhelmed by memories. He said, all the scholars and experts were deeply struck by the strategic thinking and unparalleled wisdom of Mr. Paul Kelly and considered him as a leader and role model. The essential contribution of Mr. Paul Kelly is indispensable for the establishment of FWE and the following summits and forums.
As the center and heart of FWE, Mr. Paul Kelly will always be remembered for his vision and contribution. His vision of FWE and international education will live on and will spread all over the world as FWE grows and expands.
The memorial ceremony was attended by Scott Rubin (Senior Advisor to FWE and President of Scott A. RubinAdvisors Inc.), Stephen Golding (Member of FWE Steering Committee, Treasurer of FWE, Managing Director of 1782 Group and Senior Researcher of AGB), Rebecca Maynard (Member of the FWE Steering Committee and Distinguished Professor of Education and Social Policy at the University of Pennsylvania), Nancy Kelly Merrill (Emmy Award-winning television journalist, writer and producer), Xuehua (Felix) Xiao (FWE Youth Leader and Co-Founder and Chairman of the China International Students Forum), Leslie Laird Kruhly (Former Vice President and Secretary General of the University of Pennsylvania), Alister Jones (Member of the FWE Steering Committee and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Waikato) and Li (Rocky) Shen (Executive Director of Zhejiang United Investment Group) to commemorate Mr. Paul Kelly.
